Manchester Valley High School

Meet Bri, a senior this year. She is not only the impetus behind our 2016-2017 Enviro Club, she also is a writer for the Manchester Valley Newspaper Club (about 20 students a year) writes and distributes a monthly newspaper publication. The articles are developed, written, and edited by students then printed by a local facility. Often they include environmentally based articles from our school or community. The newspapers are distributed to all students and faculty each month during our Student Enrichment Time.

Below are just a few editions of "The Valley Voice" that feature environmental articles. Many papers are then reused for the Science Department's Rolly Pollie Behavior and Compost Pile Labs.
By making our Green School efforts part of our School Improvement plan, our staff at Manchester Valley has committed to making environmental education and action a part of a faculty wide effort to develop an enduring environmental culture.

It's Clean Up Time! Each year, the Manchester Valley National Honor Society (about 30 each year participate) lead the way in keeping our school's beloved Outdoor Classroom clean and clear for some green learning. This photo was taken in the fall of 2014, but hundreds of our students benefit from the green space. Our biggest goal was to remove the non-native invasive plants from our school.
All Planned Out
In the 2012-2013 school year, EVERY student received a Student Planner which included every day ways of going green...and remembering your Algebra homework.
