The layout of Manchester Valley allows for the sunlight to shine through southern-facing windows in the winter to warm the school and save money on heat - just one of the fun facts we cover in our Foundations of Technology Classes.

Lights Out!  Teachers with windows at our school say why be an energy vampire? Our school's ceilings slant in allowing for the sunlight to fill up the whole room to warm it. On any given day, half of our school learns by natural sunlight.

MVH has its own compost bins (4) located by the green house. Organic materials are put in in order to reduce solid waste and to create a nutrient-rich soil for future use including for science labs and Ag Science activities.

Healthy School Environment

This is a math class...

What are we doing outside?  Because studies show students think better outside.  Even in the chill of the morning, students in any subject can be found in our AWESOME outdoor classroom.

A Little Healthy Competition Anyone?

You Bet!   Our Enviothon Team, are students from Ag Science to AP Environmental Science. Yes, we have a Little Green Swagger... A close second place two years in a row to the nationally ranked team.  Not too shabby. Each year we can only send our six finest students.

The counseling staff led a mental health professional development that helps all our staff identify, understand, and work with students that have experienced  Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) The training consisted of a presentation, group discussion, and an online interactive simulation.
